I have handled well over 8,000 foreclosure cases since 2008.
Are you late on your mortgage payments and facing a foreclosure? There are options to save your home. Keep in mind that many factors come into play when attempting to save the home and it may not be possible in every situation. During our free consultation we will discuss options specific to your situation.
My office will immediately attempt to modify the loan. The quicker we modify the loan, the less money will be added to the loan balance and the faster you obtain peace of mind. If a modification is denied, we can reapply if your financial situation changes. If after all modification attempts have been exhausted, there are solutions to mitigate the effect a foreclosure may have on you.
Lately, I have received several calls regarding people that entered into a forbearance agreement with their lender. Did you know that at the end of your forbearance agreement all missed payments become due and owing? The exception to this would be if you enter into a separate agreement with your lender that modifies the terms of your loan. This can include “tacking on” the missed payments to the end of your loan. Lenders have a habit of not conveying clear information to borrowers which ends up with thousands upon thousands of dollars becoming due all at once.
Navigating the uncharted waters created by the COVID-19 pandemic can be complex and frightening. My experience and knowledge gained while defending foreclosure suits through the 2008 recession has been immeasurable in today’s uncertain climate.
